Broadbridge Heath is a popular village approximately two miles west of the historic centre of Horsham. The village began as a scattered group of houses around the common before the 19th century, and by 1844 there were estimated to be twelve houses and an inn.
Since then, the village has grown and from 2013, Wickhurst Green was built to the south of the by-pass, becoming a part of the sought-after village of Broadbridge Heath. Wickhurst Green is a charming, modern housing development featuring play parks, open spaces, mature trees and hedgerows throughout.
Located in the Broadbridge Heath you will discover The Shelley Arms pub, a local convenience store and a barbers. While in Wickhurst Green there is a shop, dentist, vets and day nursery. You will also find the Village Centre & Social Club, along with the Scout Hall which holds many charity and social events and Scouting organisations.
On the edge of the village is a Tesco Extra, and a small retail park housing well known brands such as Homebase, Halfords & Carpetright.
There are several children’s playgrounds throughout Broadbridge Heath and Wickhurst Green, that can be found in Pelling Way, Findon Way, Charrington Way and at the Village Green, which has a large recreation ground with a pond. The popular leisure centre ‘The Bridge’ opened in 2018, and is a state of the art leisure facility, serving the whole community.
Broadbridge Heath has a Non-League football club Broadbridge Heath F.C. who play at the Wickhurst Lane Sports Ground next to the Leisure Centre. Broadbridge Heath also has a cricket club whose teams play in the Sussex Cricket League and the Sussex Slam midweek. Closely linked with the cricket club is the Broadbridge Heath Stoolball Club.
